The Startup Wizard Workshops

Do you have ideas or are you a creator? Have you thought of products or services that benefit or interest people? Do you have ambitions of being your own boss? As you consider your options for life after high school, join us to explore pathways in the exciting world of self-employment and entrepreneurship.

In this workshop, students will:
•    Learn the basics of launching a product or service through engaging in 1-on-1 entrepreneurship basic training.
•    Learn the basics of starting a business and determining what you need to succeed with your idea. 
•    Learn to present individually and in groups, simulating various types of product pitches or business ideas to your peers and mentors.
•    Receive mentorship on how to take the next steps in your journey towards managing your own business.

Mentor Information

Murray Elbourn is a former Paralympian and CEO of several successful high-level organizations spanning two continents. He has found vast success in life as someone who is blind. The foundations of his success are found in determining what actions you must take and setting goals to get where you want.

WHO

This workshop is ideal for students who are Blind, Low-Vision or Deafblind, between the ages of 14 and 21 years old, currently receiving services through a DSB VR services or PRE-ETS participant case.

COST

Free! This workshop is free to students who are Blind, Low-Vision or Deafblind, between the ages of 14 and 21, who are active participants of DSB VR or PRE-ETS services.
