Program Specialist 3 

Lacey

We’re hiring a Business Enterprise Program Specialist!  Please share this unique recruitment with those interested in supporting blind entrepreneurs own a vending facility in Washington State. 

This position is stationed out of Lacey but travels throughout Washington state supporting our current vendors operators and work to develop new operations.  The Program Specialist works within a small team, reporting to the BEP Manager on daily operations of business owners and operations. The incumbent will interact daily with agency staff, blind vending facility operators and licensees, building tenants and facility staff, contractors, suppliers, technicians, etc., reflecting the agency values of empathy, integrity and collaboration.

The position requires extensive travel, approximately 35% of the time, throughout the State with the use of a state vehicle.  The incumbent may need to lift, move and/or transport up to 60 lbs.

Vision Rehabilitation Specialist – Senior (In-Training)

Vancouver & Yakima

As a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist - Senior you will analyze and assess the adaptive skills of DSB participants with Blindness, Deaf-Blindness, and Low Vision for their activities of daily living and employment readiness. As the Rehabilitation Teaching and Orientation & Mobility subject matter expert, you will apply superior emerging and evolving technologies and training methods to solve current and future participants and employer needs. 

You will recommend and help develop the curriculum and implement training methods for participants - and employers seeking to accommodate their staff in accordance with Section 508 and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 

In this position, you will also recruit, evaluate, and manage vendors who provide specialized adaptive rehabilitation training and teaching to participants. You'll develop program standards related to Low Vision Evaluations and develop and monitor budgets for Low Vision Labs and Adaptive Tools.  You'll also provide adaptive education to businesses, participants, community partners, and employers.

This recruitment will be used to fill 2 vacancies: Yakima, WA and Vancouver, WA.
