Adaptive Technology Specialist (IT Business Analyst - Journey)

Tacoma

In this role, you will analyze and assess the informational technology and rehabilitation engineering requirements of businesses, participants with blindness, Deaf-Blindness, and low vision for their employment accommodations. As the subject matter expert, you will apply emerging and evolving technologies to current and future business and participants needs. This includes recommending, designing, and implementing accessible technology solutions for employment and educational environments. 

The Adaptive Technology Specialist is responsible for providing recommendations to businesses and participants employers to meet or exceed Section 508 and other accessibility standards through business IT analysis, software, and website compatibility testing. Other duties include evaluating the need for technical support, recruit, evaluate and manage vendors, provide advanced technology resolutions, make accessible software and web design recommendations, provide skill development/refreshment and evaluation of technical innovations, provide Adaptive Technology education to businesses, participants, community partners, and employers.

Vision Rehabilitation Specialist - Senior Itinerant

Statewide

The Vision Rehabilitation Specialist - Senior Itinerant, analyzes and assesses the adaptive skills of customers with Blindness, Deaf-Blindness, and Low Vision for their activities of daily living and employment readiness.

As the Rehabilitation Teaching and Orientation & Mobility subject matter expert, the Vision Rehabilitation Specialist - Senior Itinerant applies superior emerging and evolving technologies and training methods to current and future customers and employers. They recommend and help develop the curriculum and implement training methodologies to customers and employers seeking to accommodate their staff in accordance with Section 508 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This travelling position is unique in that it will provide intermittent training and support to customers across the state as case load and needs increase and support is necessary. This position also recruits, evaluates and manages vendors who provide specialized adaptive rehabilitation training and teaching to customers. It develops program standards related to Low Vision Evaluations, develops and monitors their budget for Low Vision kit and Adaptive Tools. It also provides adaptive education to businesses, customers, community partners, and employers.

Applicants can choose to work from one of many offices located in Washington State: Seattle, Tacoma, Lacey/Olympia, Vancouver, Spokane and Yakima.

As the Rehabilitation Teaching and Orientation & Mobility subject matter expert, you will apply superior emerging and evolving technologies and training methods to solve current and future participants and employer needs. 

You will recommend and help develop the curriculum and implement training methods for participants - and employers seeking to accommodate their staff in accordance with Section 508 and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 

In this position, you will also recruit, evaluate, and manage vendors who provide specialized adaptive rehabilitation training and teaching to participants. You'll develop program standards related to Low Vision Evaluations and develop and monitor budgets for Low Vision Labs and Adaptive Tools.  You'll also provide adaptive education to businesses, participants, community partners, and employers.
