Event description
Connected Parents, Resilient Kids.

Join Connected Parents, Resilient Kids this summer. This group, created especially for parents of children who are Blind, Deaf-Blind, or Low Vision, will meet virtually this summer to build community and support for families and learn practical skills to foster resilience in children.
Based on feedback from our recent parent survey, we’ll be diving into the inspiring and empowering topic of resilience – through the lens of Angela Duckworth’s bestselling book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance.
You can pick options to fit your schedule. Read the book, listen to the audiobook, or explore TED Talks and other media – we’re flexible! During the first meeting, we will decide how we will discuss the topics raised in the book. Then, over the course of the summer, we will talk about how we can use these topics in day-to-day life.
Whether you’re an avid reader or simply curious about how grit shapes success, there’s a place for you in this conversation. If your summer schedule feels too full for a full read, don’t worry, join us anyway! This is a chance to connect with other parents, reflect, and grow together in a supportive space.
Come explore how we can build resilience in our children – and ourselves. We can’t wait to see you there!
