Explorers Letter from April
Peter has made new friends and connected with old friends at each event he has attended. Making friends has been hard for Peter and it is like he finally found his own community.
The Mariners game was an incredible opportunity. Peter found the OneCourt technology to be a way to finally engage with baseball. He has never enjoyed going to games before but that game he stayed all the way to the end and had a great time.
The self-defense class gave him a lot more situational confidence and he made some friends there that were also at the tennis tournament.
The tennis tournament was amazing. He has always wanted to play tennis and now he finally can! He talks about it all the time even two weeks later. As for community, staying in the same hotel as the other kids they were able to swim together, eat together, and play games. At least three of the kids have stayed in close contact since the event. Peter texts with them every day and they play Minecraft together.
He keeps asking when the next event will be. We are going to try to go to the tennis tournament in Spokane so he can see his friends and play tennis.
Thank you so much for what you have created. It matters so much to Peter and to me as his mom.
