Event description

A young girl wearing an apron and chef’s hat uses a whisk to stir ingredients in a bowl.

The parent and child (the Tasty Team) will be introduced to the science and safety of basic heat principles around cooking with vision loss, and will use a common kitchen appliance to produce a delicious, cooked food outcome.

Parents of children with vision loss, who do not have vision loss themselves, could also benefit from this workshop. Parents will be introduced to basic cooking tools and strategies that will allow them to offer supervised opportunities to their children leading to increased independence and contributions to family meal preparation.

Please register below. You will be contacted with an address and details. For questions about DSB services or how to attend this and other workshops, please contact Sara Logston or call 206-702-3673.

Parents interested in registering for the DSB Explorers can contact Sara Logston or note their interest on the registration form. One adult is needed to accompany the youth for this workshop.
