YS Pizza and Pups

A young rottweiler laying on the floor with a “smiling” expression on her face. The corners of her mouth are upturned and her tounge is lolling out. She has a napkin tied around her neck. On the floor in front of her- between her front paws - is a plate containing a whole, dog-friendly pizza. For more than 30 years, DSB Youth Services has worked to provide the families of children with visual disabilities with services that foster scholastic, career, and social development.

This event provides you and your family the opportunity to discuss the DSB services available to your child, learn about DSB’s fun and educational programs and workshops, and let us know what you would like to see your kids learn as they prepare for their education and future careers.

This is an opportunity learn about DSB’s youth programs and hear a presentation from Jake Koch from Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. Parents and students will learn about guide dogs and the K-9 buddy program. Attendees will also get a special chance to interact with the guide dogs!

In addition, members from the Washington Council of the Blind (WCB) Families Committee will be there with Braille books for the kids and a discussion of their work with families with visually impaired children.
