The Department of Services for the Blind's Youth Services Program is excited to bring you the Skills Workshops, teaching independent living skills to yound children.

Since 2009, this program has addressed the lack of summer programs available to elementary age children and has been designed to tackle these issues and to address skill areas contained in the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC). Activities are intended to correlate directly to the following areas of the ECC:

  • Independent Living
  • Social Interaction
  • Recreation and Leisure
  • Use of Technolgy
  • Self-determination

If you have (or know) a child or student who would benefit from this experience, please contact us to enroll in a Skills workshop this summer. They will make memories to treasure!
