Join the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program for a free Engineering Day.
Blind and Low Vision students (and their families!) will learn about different fields of engineering through fun, hands-on activities at the award-winning Milepost 31 – the information center that provides an inside look at the SR 99 Tunnel Project and its world-famous boring machine, Bertha.
Milepost 31 provides visitors with history, artifacts, and interactive exhibits designed to broaden your understanding of the engineering and science behind the SR 99 project.
You’ll meet an engineer from the SR 99 Tunnel Project, learn what it’s like to work with Bertha, build model bridges, learn about the different soil conditioners used by Bertha, and perform other interactive engineering activities.
